Turned turtle: Nine teachers injured in road accident

Police said the vehicle was on its way to Bir village from Haripur, carrying 15 teachers of different govt schools

At least nine schoolteachers were injured, two of them severely, when a passenger van turned turtle on Chappar Road on Monday.


Police said the vehicle was on its way to Bir village from Haripur, carrying 15 teachers of different government schools.

When it neared Chatti village, the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned after hitting a roadside hillock.

Locals and the unharmed teachers rushed the nine injured people to Women and Children Hospital.

Two of the victims, Sajida Rehman and Khalida Bibi, were referred to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad.

The other injured people were identified as Muhammad Musharaf Hazarvi, Sajid, Muhammad Ayaz, Sajjad Hussain Shah, Ziaur Rehman, Iftikhar Khan and Waseem.

On October 7, two brothers died in an accident in
the district.
