SWABI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader Salim Saifullah Khan has urged National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and the Election Commission of Pakistan to approve resignations of PTI MNAs and conduct by-polls in the respective constituencies.

Talking to a party delegation headed by PML-N leader Syed Imran at his residence in Islamabad on Monday, Khan said accepting resignations was a constitutional, legal and democratic process.

He suggested that all political leaderships, including Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri, should settle their differences through mutual negotiations, otherwise enemies could benefit from such internal and political conflicts.

He appreciated the role of JI Central Ameer Sirajul Haq for resolving issues among Tahirul Qadri, Imran Khan and the government. Khan said he is also ready to play his role for the purpose.

Talking about the recent cross-border skirmishes, Khan maintained India violated the ceasefire. This act, he said, will weaken the relationship between both countries further.

“Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi should stop attacking Pakistan and killing innocent Muslims. If he does not do so, then Pakistan’s army has the potential to retaliate,” warned Khan.

The PML-N leader told the delegation many areas have been cleared by security forces in North Waziristan. “It’s time for the government to repatriate the displaced people as they have suffered great problems during displacement.”
