It seems Imran Khan’s decision to remarry hasn't exactly gone down well with all his backers as Jemima Khan, who got divorced from the cricket legend 10 years ago, has disclosed her intention, albeit reluctant, to do away with her surname, the Daily Mail reported.
"My ex-husband, Imran, recently announced that he intended to get remarried soon, which made me think it’s probably time to change my name back to Goldsmith," said the 40-year-old daughter of the late billionaire Sir James Goldsmith and his widow, Lady Annabel.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief is under immense pressure from his family members to get married in the near future, family sources have revealed. According to the sources, Imran’s sisters in particular were very insistent that he get married in a bid to avoid personal vilification.
Imran, who is currently staging a sit-in in Islamabad against the PML-N government, only fuelled the rumours when he announced that he would get married as soon as his 'Naya Pakistan' came into being.
Jemima, who has two sons with Imran, seems particularly sad about the switch. ‘I’ve been Khan for as long as I was Goldsmith and I last used my maiden name when I was a child (OK, 21)," she writes in the New Statesman magazine.
"I quite like that my name represents my “Juslim” identity (Jemima being Jewish, Khan Muslim-ish)."
Heiress Jemima converted to Islam before marrying Imran in a traditional Muslim ceremony in Paris at the age of 21. The couple said their marriage collapsed because it was "difficult for Jemima to adapt to life in Pakistan".
Jemima went on to have a three-year relationship with actor Hugh Grant and more recently controversial comedian Russell Brand.

‘I kept “Khan” originally as my children felt strongly about it, but now they’re grown up they don’t seem to care,’ she says.

Sad to hear that Jemima Khan is thinking of changing her last name. When IK announced his wish to remarry I was and still hope and pray that they remarry each other. They make a beautiful couple. Jemima Khan is doing a great job-raising the boys as muslims.

I told you about that his name is Zac who lost his first election in UK and on his second attempt He imported IK for his election campaign after that he won. I am very sorry to say regarding your little knowledge about the fame of IK He is so much popular at the period when He was in oxford while he was neither in cricket nor in politics just for your memory recall remember Tony Blayer's statement what he said to IK when He met him. just to correct a misconception! Jemima may not have been known in Pakistan, but she and her family were and are very well known in the UK and Europe. In-fact, were it not for her friendship with Diana, Princess of Wales, at the time, Pakistan would not have had the famous visit they had! so check your facts before you attempt to denigrate another person! She was better known than Imran Khan outside of the cricket circle, at-least in the WEstern World!
It was also her money and wealth that helped Imran launch his political carrier!
Before marriage with khan No one knows who is Jamima. Khan gave her fame in the world. This world knows jamima w.r.t Khan. She change her name or not Khan have 0% effect but she has definitely.

Hey, she has been divorced for a long time and changing last names is no big deal, as a matter of fact some girls in US and Europe keep their maiden names and yet married. She has every right to get marry again and change her name if she so desires. I am little surprised that she has not remarried, it has been 10years now. It shows to me that there is some inner beauty in that woman who is so concerned about her children. Kudos to you Jemima Khan.
Seems to me Imran had married a decent lady. He should have tried harder to keep the marriage intact
