Crime grip: Valuables stolen in two dozen heists in Faisalabad

Saddar police said three men had stopped Ahmad Khan at Jhang Road and taken away Rs1.8 million from him.

Cash, gold jewellery, mobile phones, 12 motorcycles and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were stolen in two dozen hold-ups in and around Faisalabad on Monday.


Saddar police said three men had stopped Ahmad Khan at Jhang Road and taken away Rs1.8 million from him. They said robbers took away cash and mobile phone from 21-year-old Jahangir near Mohallah Mimmat Pura on Jaranwala Road.

They said the robbers shot him when he resisted. They said the man was taken to a hospital where his condition was stable.

Police said robbers stopped Akbar Ali near Chak 53-JB and shot him when he tried to flee. The robbers took away his mobile phone and cash. Ali was injured and taken to a hospital where doctors said his condition was critical.

Police said motorbikes were stolen from Rehan near Civil Lines, from Hisham at Susan Road, Samiullah at Kutchery Bazaar, Rizwan near Agriculture University, Ashfaq near D-Ground, Ejaz near the district headquarters hospital, Bilal Akram near PINUM Hospital, Ziaullah at Jaranwala Road, Umar Zafar at General Bus Stand, Umar Farooq near Abdullah Pur Underpass, Abdul Lateef near Chak 78-JB and from Waqas Riaz near Chak 66-JB.

They said robbers took away cash and golden jewellery from Asad Ali’s sister near B-block of Gulberg Colony and Hamid Raza’s sister at Kaleem Shaheed Colony.

Robbers also took away Rs190,000 from a man in Jinnah Colony. Police said cases had been registered and they had begun investigation. They said no arrests had been made so far.
