NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Monday inaugurated the laboratory at NAB’s regional office Rawalpindi.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has established a state of the art forensic laboratory in Rawalpindi.

NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Monday inaugurated the laboratory at NAB’s regional office Rawalpindi.

Chaudhry said the lab will help the bureau eliminate  corruption from society. He directed the director general of the Training and Research Division to provide training to officers who have been posted at the lab. He said the forensic lab should not only fulfill the bureau’s own requirements but will also help other regional bureaus.

Currently, NAB is taking help from other departments to meet its forensic analysis needs. This not only causes delays in investigation but also risks secrecy.

The lab will help retrieve documents from electronic devices like cell phones, computers and iPads. It will also assist in determining authenticity of hand writings, typescripts and printed documents and will detect forgeries in documents.
