Five alleged members of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ)were apprehended during a raid conducted in SITE on Tuesday, while two other robbers were arrested in an encounter with the police in Korangi.
Crime Investigation Department (CID) police claim to have apprehended five alleged members of the LeJ. According to the officials, the arrests were made during a raid conducted on a tip-off in SITE . The arrested suspects were later identified as Ahsan Khan, Ramzanullah, Abdullah, Azeem and Saeed. CID officials also claim to have recovered weapons from their possession. An official, Mazhar Mashwani, said that the men were arrested as they were trying to leave for Afghanistan for militancy training.
Separately, two suspected robbers were arrested in an encounter with the police in Korangi Industrial Area. They were later identified as Ashraf Sharif and Sanaullah.
