QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said that the supremacy of the parliament is the solution to all issues while the only umpire here is the Parliament from where the people should seek a decision.

While talking to the media after prize distribution ceremony at the Islamia College in Quetta on Thursday, Baloch said that the parliament is the first and third umpire for the democratic forces.

“I do not know who the umpire is. I believe in the parliamentary system, and the democratic system is in the best interest of the country, its federation and people. We support democracy because it is the only way to address the problems.”

The ruling National Party (NP) has already stated that it will stand with federal government.

Earlier, addressing the students in his speech, the chief minister said that the state of education is not in good shape across the country. “We need more resources to improve the education system in Balochistan. Government had increased the budget but still it is not enough as more steps desperately needed to be taken,” he said.

He announced Rs2 million and a bus for Islamia Girls’ and Boys’ college Quetta.

Provincial Ministers and officials were present at the occasion.
