Old rivalry: 4 killed, 4 injured in shootouts

Clashes erupted between two groups in separate incidents.

Four people were killed and another four sustained injuries when a clash erupted between two rival groups near Sandal Bar and Thikriwala police stations.


A police spokesman said two groups led by Muhammad Ishaq and Riaz Dogar exchanged firing in Chak 29-JB over an old dispute.

Dogar and Ishaq had died in the exchange. Police said Sadaqat and Umar were injured and taken to a hospital.

Jinnah Circle Superintendent Zulfiqar Ahmad led a police team to the scene. He said the men dispersed on his arrival.

The SP has formed a team to arrest them.

Separately, Dastagir, Imran and their accomplices shot Abdus Sattar, his nephews Ghulam Rasool, Khawar and Mazhar, all residents of Chak 276-JB Dandewal when they were going home after attending a hearing of a case at the district courts.

Sattar and Rasool died on the spot.

Khawar and Mazhar were taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Thikriwala police took the bodies to a morgue for autopsy and started search for the suspects. They said a case had been registered and they were investigating.
