FIR against rulers is our first victory: MWM

MWM deputy secretary general says people would not have entered Parliament House lawns if police had not fired at them

KARACHI: The registration of the Model Town FIR against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is first victory of the ‘Revolution’ March, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) deputy secretary general Allama Syed Shafqat Hussain Sheerazi said on Wednesday.

While speaking at Wahdat House, Allama Sheerazi said Punjab police lodged the FIR of Model Town tragedy after a delay of two months. He added that both Sharif brothers should tell the nation if it needs to gather outside the Parliament House for lodging an FIR.

“After over two months, police has finally lodged the FIR on the complaint of aggrieved. Is this rule of law and justice?”

The MWM deputy secretary general demanded that another  FIR should be registration of another FIR of Red Zone martyrs on complaint of the aggrieved heirs.

He said women and children were included in the ‘Revolution’ March and they had to seek shelter in Parliament House lawns when police started firing tear gas shells and rubber bullets.

“Had they not resorted to shelling, not a single person would have entered the Parliament lawns,” he claimed. “They were going to gather outside the PM House, and they had no intention to storm any state building.”

Allama Sheerazi further said that politicians, who were defending the system and sanctity of state buildings, should not deceive the people, adding that they were not against the state but Nawaz Sharif and his wrongdoings.
