Iqbal, while speaking to the media after the joint session of the Parliament on Wednesday, said the fairness of May 2013 elections was acknowledged by neutral observers.
He added that it was ridiculous to say that the caretakers appointed by the PPP-led government had paved the way for a PML-N victory since for the first time the chief election commissioner was appointed through national consensus.
Referring to PTI’s initial demand of recounting in four constituencies, he said it was the jurisdiction of the election commission, not the government, to probe the elections.
Responding to Imran Khan’s complaint that the process of disposing election petitions was slow, Iqbal reminded the PTI chief that he could not dispose of appeals against party elections in 18 months.
Minister for Science Zahid Hamid urged both the PTI and PAT to end their protests as their continuation would sabbotage the forthcoming visit of the Chinese president.

......astonished, they still have not learnt anything.
@Faraz: I still remember the election campaign of 2013 where PPP was being criticized and in Punjab Noora League Team spread a Shosha that PTI is another version of PPP and that PTI is getting support from PPP so that the lowest popularity of PPP could effect PTI..... PPP and PML N shared the last Government and this time as well..... sharing is caring you know ;-)
How innocently put. He makes it sound as if it was the sole prerogative of the PPP Govt to appoint whomever they wished. As per new rules after constitutional amendments, caretakers were to be appointed after consultation with opposition leader, which was from PML-N. Both Govt and Opposition leader had to suggest names, then one name was finalized by both.
Secondly, last time I checked English dictionary, the words 'distribution' and 'printing' are two separate words with different meanings and purposes. Finally, no one doubted the integrity of CEC Fakhru bhai, but please tell me, what is the logic of appointing an 83 year old octogenarian who failed to recognize the then COAS after holding an hour long meeting with him, to the demanding job of a Chief Election Commissioner?
so 16 months later PMLN got theit story together...wonder who their novelist is...
Another Elephant in the Room? People seem to overlook that PML-N wasn't in charge of the govt nor election - that doesn't mean there wasn't local corruption but it makes wide spread manipulation difficult/impossible.
and you got fake ballot papers printed from private printers
Now Imran Khan will turn his ranting canons towards Army Chief. This guy cannot breathe without accusing others.
