KARACHI: Six policemen were locked up when they were found absent on duty on Tuesday. The policemen were deployed for security duty at a protest held by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in District East. Police sources said that senior police officials found them absent from while visiting the protest site. They were later found having tea at a nearby teashop. They were then detained and later locked up at a police station in Ferozabad as punishment for their negligence of duty. However, within few hours, they were released with a warning. Police officials involved in the incident, including Ferozabad SHO Safdar Mashwani, tried to ignore the incident when contacted.
