Explosion: House damaged in bomb blast

A search operation to nab the culprits is under way.

HANGU:


A house was partially damaged in a bomb blast in Bilal Colony of Hangu district on Monday. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported in the incident.


A police official said unidentified miscreants planted explosives near the residence of Bilal Badshah, adding no one had claimed responsibility till this report was filed. A search operation to nab the culprits is under way.


In another incident, the district police arrested a man allegedly involved in killing a 30-year-old widow and her eight-year-old her son. Hangu police SHO Aslam Khattak said the woman and her son were killed inside their house in Aliabad. Family members later nominated two suspects, Mehboob and Zarin.


SHO Khattak said the police then set up check posts in the area after registering an FIR and arrested Mehboob, a resident of Orakzai Agency, while Zarin managed to escape.


Meanwhile, Hangu DPO Anwar Saeed Kundi has suspended the District Reconciliation Committee chairman following complaints by the public and security agencies.
