Tragic end: Man kills girl, commits suicide

SHO told media persons that the police had sent both the bodies to hospital for an autopsy.

FAISALABAD:

A man shot a girl dead on Sunday in Chak 18-JB and later committed suicide.

Khadim Hussain, uncle of the deceased girl, told reporters that Ejaz Ahmad, a neighbour, had courted Aasia*, who had refused his advances.

“Ejaz met the girl outside the village on Sunday, where she again refused his advances. He then shot Aasia, who died on the spot,” Hussain said.

He said Ejaz then also shot himself. “Hearing the gunshots, passers by rushed to the spot and found the girl lying dead. Ejaz, already injured, told them what had happened. He later died from his injuries,” Hussain said.

The Sahianwala station house officer told media persons that the police had sent both the bodies to hospital for an autopsy.

Names have been changed to protect identities
