Unknown location: Nine injured in mortar attack

Rockets fired at security forces camp, no loss reported.

BARA/MIRANSHAH: Nine people, including women and children, were injured when a mortar shell landed on the residence of a peace militia commander, Sadiq Mirgatkhel.

This incident took place in Akakhel area of Bara, Khyber Agency at midnight on Wednesday, said an official of the political administration.

The shell was fired from an unknown location. The injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital, said the spokesman of the peace militia, Zarwali.

Meanwhile, rockets were fired at a security forces camp in Miranshah, North Waziristan on Thursday morning, but no casualties were reported.

Security officials said the rockets were fired by unidentified militants from an unknown location. Security forces subsequently launched a search operation in the area. Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack thus far.
