Eid is finally on our doorstep and so is a lucrative week at the local box office as Salman Khan’s Kick is all set to dominate the single screens and multiplexes in Pakistan. Kick will have a bigger opening than Waar and Dhoom 3 with occupancy of 58 screens out of the estimated 70 screens available. Waar had started off on a total of 48 screens (not 53 as reported earlier) and Dhoom 3 that was released almost three months after Waar on 56 screens.

The Aamir Khan-starrer went on to break Waar’s records, including the biggest first day opening in Pakistan and the highest first week collections. It is the highest grossing film ever in Pakistan, with a grand total of Rs240 million. Waar, on the other hand, retains the record of the highest earning Pakistani film with a grand total of Rs230 million.

Apart from being the main Eidul Fitr release, Kick has other reasons to upset the aforementioned records table. The most important among them being the fact that the film will get a consecutive 10-day business in Pakistan, without any major competition until Akshay Kumar’s Its Entertainment arrives on August 8.

Box office prediction:  Kick will shatter the previous records of the first day and first week collections in Pakistan.
