Reaching out: PEF expands new school programme

A statement issued in this regard said the expansion phase included partnership with 125 private schools.

As many as 11,000 children would be targeted through the expansion of the New School Programme, Punjab Education Foundation Director Waqar Azeem said on Sunday.


Addressing a ceremony, he said expansion phase five of the New School Programme would provide schooling to children from low income households.


The ceremony was held for monthly grant distribution among new school partners of the PEF.


A statement issued in this regard said the expansion phase included partnership with 125 private schools.


Azeem said the phase had been launched in Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Vehari, Faisalabad, Lodhran, Bhakkar, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar districts.


Azeem said that NSP had made access free education easier for 74,000 children across Punjab.


He said the expansion of the NSP program aimed to increase reach 85,000 children. Azeem said a large number of partner schools would be included in the programme.


He said the expansion phase would increase partner schools to 517.
