KOHAT:

Residents of Togh Bala blocked Pindi-Kohat Road on the outskirts of Kohat on Monday to protest against prolonged power outages in the union council.

The protest was led by Togh Bala former nazim Bashir Bangash.

They marched towards Rahman CNG Station around 8am and blocked the thoroughfare.

Shouting slogans against Wapda officials and the provincial government, the protesters claimed that despite Ramazan, they have to contend with around 16 hours of load-shedding every day.

Addressing protesters, Bashir said there is no electricity in their area especially during Sehr and Iftar because of which residents are facing mounting problems.

The road was blocked for over an hour during which commuters faced difficulties.

The protesters later dispersed after Sub-divisional Officer Fida Mehmood visited them
and assured them the area will only undergo scheduled load-shedding from now on.
