According to Express News correspondent, a drone fired four missiles in Dargah Mandi, Tor Khel area of Miramshah.
The missiles were fired at two different targets. The identities of those killed in the attack could not be immediately ascertained.
Previous drone strikes
On Jun 11, two successive drone strikes reportedly killed around 16 people and injured few others.
Target of the first strike was a pickup truck that was parked against the outer wall of a compound. The compound and the truck were completely destroyed in the attack.
Officials had claimed that four Uzbeks and two Punjabi Taliban were killed in the strike.
In the second drone strike, the drone fired on the people who had gathered to dig the debris of a compound.
Three missiles were fired which hit the debris and two vehicles present at the site resulting in the deaths of around ten people.
There have been three drone strikes this year, killing around 20 people.

@antanu: No i am actually reading it in various national and international news papers. You Indians meanwhile are blogging on a Pakistani website? How farigh are you guys really?
Pakistan can never use drones as CIA is conducting the whole operation under their supervision. If army was so eager to eliminate taliban in NW, the operation would have been conducted much earlier as the NW operation plan was prepared in 2009 but the payment was delayed by the US.Lot of civilian people will die in this operation but will be claimed as terrorists.Has anybody seen such a war in any country for so long? Why army kept failing since 9/11? Why our intelligence network collapsed in past years? It is because we are relying on US intelligence. They are fixing the targets for Pakistan army.
@Saeed: They are reconnaissance drones hence lack missile capability.
You all are stupid, Pakistan has made and tested its own drones. The ones being used in these operation are Pakistan made drones rather than American drones as the current drones are moving around the even after they have struck down the terrorists for surveillance. The American drones just fired and went away ,
To all the Pseudo-intellects... "The identities of those killed in the attack could not be immediately ascertained."
@MK: No, highly contradictory statement. Baluchistan is a part of Pakistan. We are bound by blood and belief. Period.
@Harris:
i guess terrorists numbers are in few thousand. if go by your claim 100 in a shot means it will take hardly few days if take 1-2 shot a day?
You know what is a real mystery? 1.) Drones suddenly stopping about 6 months back. 2.) Jordan supplying Pakistan with F-16s out of the blue. 3.) The charade of peace talks. 4.) Nawaz meets Imran and the captain suddenly stops objecting against operations. Karachi Airport attack happens and the agencies have no clue and the terrorists managed to get inside with a truckload of weapons. Airports are not hotels - they are high-security zones.
Drones are useless, they are killing only 6 terrorists at a time, just a drop in the buckets, as oppose to our jets are doing a great job by killing hundreds in one shot.
@The Failed Rebel: If the real freedom fighters of pakistan rise, Baloch will no more be a part of pakistan
@goldconsumer: yes...obviously you are reporting from the war front.
@Arindom: since pakistanis have awaken from slumber and decided to crush the terrorism we should as good neighbours appreciate it and encourage them with moral support. Instead you chose to take potshots at the first available opportunity which is the hallmark of an extremist who is never happy with any positive developments. Pakistanis have already slapped us on the face....Their reaction to military operation is so overwhelmingly positive that no one can dare to blame them for supporting terrorism ...isn't it our duty to support them ...back them so that they stand firm against eventualities and hardship which may come their way as a result of military operations. ..but then our RSS inspired mind just can't accept this. Its a real shame.
@ The Failed Rebel Well first of all its Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir not just Kashmir, and the people there consist of Hindus Muslims Buddhist and Sikhs who may not want to be part of Pakistan. Secondly, the whole problem started with the dellemma of who are the real freedom fighters? who are good and bad taliban, who are pure muslims and if the state is secular or islamist. They have to understand their our emotions first before being able to understand the emotions of kashmiris or Hind.
this is pak/our country islam make peice, not terror ,and who use the name of islam and dont thing against islam he is not a muslim ,so he is anti islam ,must be finished asap..
@Truth detector: Because if the real freedom fighters in Pakistan rise and the nation stands behind them formally, Kashmir will be a part of Pakistan. =) Why don't you understand the emotions of Hind?
@Truth detector Indians on this forum cheer drone strikes because these are the same strategic assets your establishment was nourishing and providing safe havens to gain strategic depth against India. Well they have to go long way, still awaiting action against other terrorist groups like LeT and LeJ but anyways its a good start. Each terrorist killed in Pakistan reduces the probability of terror strikes in India. Killing them will make Pakistan stable and that in turn would bring stability to South Asia. *Terrorist are our common enemy.*
Can anyone tell me why Indians on this forum cheer drone strikes? They don't have anything to do with anything. It does not effect them in any way. Do they some blue pill effect? Just wondering..
I fully support the operation but don't favour drone strikes....We can do it with out the US. We are capable and need to keep our sovereignty intact at every cost
With civilian population out of the region it's time for massive day and night carpet bombardment of the terrorists besides shoot at sight operations in cities like Karachi and regions like southern Punjab. Every terrorist and his supporter should be dealt with no mercy
I don't get this.... when Drones kill people in NWA their "identities cannot be ascertained" (at least not until much later anyway) but when the PAF launches air-strikes all the news agencies confidently state that X or Y number of "militants" have been killed ... from this even a dim-wit can tell that PAF is far more superior and accurate compared to drones! So question then is WHY are drones necessary..... or am I missing something here.... (?)
so USA trying to remove all evidence of their own wrong doings in these areas kooool.
These are first step towards liberation, but we do need to change their ideology, in order to sustain liberal Pakistan.
A DRONE a day keeps terrorists away .
The drones are back at the invitation from Pakistan but using them only against foreign terrorists is not sound tactics as war against terrorism in Pakistan can only be won taking them all and not on the concept of good or bad ones. This policy failed on all previous occasions which has brought Pakistan to the point of collapse but if the same is still followed in this decisive operation, the country cannot get rid of terrorism.
US targetting the Haqqani's were as the likes of Fazlullah are given sanctuaries in Afghanistan. On prior leaked intell, many of the Haqqani commanders have already moved to Afghanistan. Everyone playing politics here..
With Pakistani military/airforce working in the similar area - you got to believe there has to be some level of coordination between the two.
While Pro-Taliban forces are uniting on the excuse of Model Town carnage, drone attack by America against Taliban is most welcome. Keep it up.
It is great to see Pak army and the drones are working in tandem. Instead of playing games and not taking on the fanatic terrorists it is about time all humans go against these evils. Thanks a drone.
Where is Mr.Imran Khan?
Drones should only be used with prior permission from Pakistan, and should only kill targets chosen by Pakistan .Otherwise, we may have a mess.
It seems like after ten years of pro-taliban propaganda by the likes of Imran Khan and TV talk show hosts, people are finally beginning to see the reality - i.e. that drones are target terrorists, not "innocent people", The question is why have successive Pakistan governments as well as the military not countered the pro-taliban propaganda by simply telling people in Pakistan this simple truth.
Anyone buying that operation is not coordinated with nato/isaf/us forces. You can't have f16s and drones flying in the same theatre without each others knowledge
Drone droppings are welcome.
Good news. These terrorists must get hit from all directions.
