LAHORE:

Three gosha nasheen (religious recluses) at the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat were also among dozens injured in Tuesday’s clash with police in Model Town.

Caretaker Sahibzada Iftikharul Hasan told The Express Tribune that 21 gosha nasheen were present in an 85-foot tower at the secretariat building.

When police approached the secretariat at 11.50pm on Monday night, the gosha nasheens refused to vacate their allocated place in front of a glass window, Hasan said. A bullet struck the window and landed in the gosha nasheens’ space, Hasan added.

Three gosha nasheens, identified as Zafar Hussain, Sakhawat Ali and Muhamad Ali Shehzad reportedly received injuries from the broken glass.
