Overcharging: Substandard food being sold in parks

Visitors complain of overcharging and sale of substandard food items at different picnic spots in the capital.


Picnickers at Lake View Park, Daman-e-Koh, Shakarparian and Pakistan Monument allege that vendors and kiosk owners are selling food items at double the market rates.


Rahat Ali, who regularly visits Lake View Park, says his family brings food along with them to avoid the inconvenience of paying extra. He also said that the vendors did not care about the quality of the food they sold.


Abid Hussain, a vendor at Lake View Park, said they charge higher rates because they have to pay high rents. He said he was paying Rs60,000 in rent to the owner of his kiosk.
