A 65-year-old candy vendor sexually assaulted a schoolgirl on Tuesday, leaving the five-year-old in a critical condition.
According to the victim’s father, resident of Jaampur near Khanpur, his daughter went to buy candies outside her school where she was abducted by the candy vendor.
Nawaz, who is also a resident of the same area, took the girl to his house where he raped her and then fled the house. He was later arrested.
When the victim reached home covered in blood the family immediately took her to the hospital. The doctors were waiting for the medical reports until the filing of this report.
Talking to The Express Tribune DPO Rahim Yar Khan Sohail Zafar Chatta confirmed that the victim’s father has lodged an FIR against Nawaz, who was later arrested and confessed to his crime.

Falling to the level of savages by stoning people for offences, no matter how severe, should not be the way a civilized society deals with criminals and monsters.

What is wrong with Punjab? Raping children, killing women in front of High Court! Killing minorities? Most of the incidents happen in Punjab.
Wow. This freak gives a whole new meaning to "kids shouldn't take candy from strangers". I hope that the poor little girl finds justice (kind of a tall order in this hopeless place though).
A sick society. Yesterday a woman was stoned to death in the Lahore high court!
We are living in dark ages as were the European in 16th century.
Capitol Punishment in public is the only thing that will reduce this.

@ Mishrab ~ Same situation across the country, highlighted in Punjab mostly. Today, after 1 year, no political party is able to form a law against any thing. We must review the constitution and not only follow Islamic laws, but involve science for the quick decision making.
In a society administered by no law and punishment, such incidents are bound to happen. How many have we hanged till date. Oh yeah, European Union has told us not to.

Instant punishment is the only solution. The rapists should face a maximum of 1 hour trial and then executed.
There is no justification of Rape, Kidnapping and Honor Killing!
Of course this will never happen in our country as neither the government has the will, nor the judiciary has the spine. Law enforcement agencies don't have the training or the capacity to gather evidence and form a case against the suspect / criminal.
So chances are that we will become an even more violent society forced to protect ourselves using our means and taking revenge on our own... maybe its time to shut down the courts, terminate the police force and allow all citizens to keep weapons for their own defence.
Very sad... and we try to convince ourselves that the western society is messed up. The number of such cases of violence in the society are only a fraction of the actual number of cases. Majority of the cases are either not reported or not registered.
Why such cases are mostly happening in Southern Punjab ? Punjab in whole need to be educated.
This 65 yr old baba should be stoned to death in public. Just once this is done, then no one will ever dare even think of such heinous crime.
