FAISALABAD:

Police on Thursday registered a case against a group of people who had shaved the head, eyebrows and moustache of a man alleging that he had raped his daughter-in-law and paraded him on a donkey before taking him to a police station.

Muhammad Din, a resident of Nawabanwala, said Ibrar* had raped Sadia*. He said the girl had told her parents about the assault.

“The girl’s father, Muhammad Parvaiz, went over to confront Ibrar and following an argument raised the matter with some neighbours who had gathered there.” “They started beating Ibrar… they punched him, kicked him and slapped him,” he said.

Din said they later shaved Ibrar’s head, eyebrows and moustache and put him on a donkey and took him to police. Samnabad SHO said a case had been registered against Pervaiz and his supporters. “A case has been registered against them under Section 355 of the PPC,” the SHO said. He said a case had also been registered against Ibrar under Section 376. He said Ibrar had been arrested and they were waiting for a medical report.
