KARACHI:

The Executive Committee of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA), in a meeting held in Karachi on Thursday, once again condemned the attack on senior journalist Hamid Mir and urged concerned authorities to apprehend those responsible for the incident.

“Since a judicial commission has been appointed to probe the incident, PBA stresses the need to let the law and the commission to fulfill its responsibilities,” a press release issued after the meeting stated. It added that the PBA urged all parties to avoid any steps which will impact any individual or entity’s legal and constitutional rights or project a negative image of any important institution of the country.

The PBA said it is imperative that all media uphold the basic principles of responsible journalism at all times.
