DI KHAN:

A man and a woman were allegedly killed by three of their relatives in Badda village on Monday night, said an official of Saddar police.

According to the official, Sumera’s father Ghulam Muhammad was displeased with her intended marriage with her cousin Muhammad Akram. Later, Ghulam along with his brother and his son allegedly shot dead Sumera around 8pm inside their house and then took Akram to a sugarcane field and shot him dead too, said
the official.

Akram’s father Mushtaq lodged an FIR at Saddar police station against Ghulam, Rozi Khan and Ramzan while Sumera’s mother lodged murder cases against the three accused as well, including her husband.

The deceased girl’s mother, Nazira, had separated with her husband and was residing in Mushtaq’s house, who happens to be her brother. Police said Ghulam had entered into a second marriage and was displeased with Nazira leaving him and was infuriated when he learned of his nephew’s love for his daughter.
