With an infectious smile and a peppy persona, actor Sushmita Sen is reinstating herself in the film industry.

The former Miss Universe (1994), whose career in film had been in the doldrums, lately, takes life’s lows in her stride. After a three-year-long hiatus, she has signed her first Bengali film Jodi Emon Hoto (What if it had happened), reported the Indian Express.

She will also reportedly be seen in upcoming Bollywood film Happy Anniversary along with former Miss World (1994) and actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

“I want the [past] three years to come back. I want to do great cinema. 2014 is my year. I used to say this to people earlier, and now it is turning out to be true. I am doing a few films and then, I am starting my own studio,” she said in an interview, bollywood.com reported.

Dispelling rumours of her rivalry with fellow Miss India (1994) contender Aishwarya, she said, “I live my life loving people; not loving is a waste of time and life.”

As for her marriage plans, Sushmita quipped that it has been on her father’s mind more than hers. “I will have an incredible marriage when I know I have found the right person. Do I love? Yes. Am I in love? No,” she said.

The 38-year-old actor looks fresher than ever and she lets us into the secret behind her youthful appearance: “You have to love yourself and accept everything about yourself,” she said.

“People reject things like ageing. But every wrinkle, every line makes us who we are. Today, I am 38. Tomorrow, I will be 40 and I will still celebrate myself.”

Of her being an epitome of positivity, Sushmita shared, “You become what inspires you. You should do what you like. If you want to be an actor, become one. I wanted to be famous, so that I could touch lives. I wanted to leave an impact that will stay long after I am gone and dusted.”

We can’t wait for the lovely Sush to grace the silver screen again.
