Former president Pervez Musharraf will be shifted to PNS Shifa Karachi for his treatment.
Meanwhile, special arrangements have been made at Shifa for the former president’s treatment and security.
A special team of doctors has also been constituted for his treatment. Banners have been displayed outside the hospital to stop the movement of irrelevant people.
The maintenance and repair of the CCU of the hospital has been completed and no one is allowed to go near it.
The hospital sources have, however, expressed their ignorance in this matter.
According to the sources, there are serious threats for Musharraf in Rawalpindi or Islamabad and, therefore, he has selected Karachi for his treatment.

What a pity! After one intelligent leader, General Ayub Khan, we were lucky enough to get some one like him, Pervez Musharraf. Some one who was really on a right track and would have made a great change in Pakistan, but of course our foolish followers of Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, and the Bhutto family wouldn't have that because they want Pakistan to be ruled by a few rascals who in the name of Islam are doing the most 'un- Islaamic' things to fill up their own pockets. It's a shame that millions of Muslims died at the time of partition and our leaders Qaid-e-Azam, Liaquat Ali Khan gave their lives to build a nation whereby we could have prospered - but look where we are now ! I pray for Pervez Mushraff - he's a man of principles who had the courage to return to Pakistan well knowing what would happen to him. He could have been the 'Ata Turk' of Pakistan and who knows may be he will if Allah wills so.
He is at least some kilometers near Dubai now. So yeah, definitely en-route.
@Nadeem: but by army's reaction to criticism at people like musharraf (supposedly a civilian now) seems that it considers it belongs to its generals rather than to the people and law of this country which is sad but seems true unfortunately
Good discussion but remarks like Fathers property are not good. Whole nation repects army and willing to donate othier blood for Army Jawans and Officers. Criticizing people like Genl Ayub, Yahya, Aslam Baig and Musharaf doesn't mean critisism on Army. Regards
It's not just about pervez musharraf but for the mighty principle in the land that generals are above law and constitution of this country and will remain so no matter what they do
@Nida Alvi:
Interesting. If you add all the money your article shows Mush has, it is about $27 Millions in foreign accounts in Dubai! All this doesn't include his wealth in Pakistan or wealth hidden in other foreign accounts. Musharraf's total wealth should be in excess of $50M!
Now, how did he manage to make that working on his army salary? One way he could have made this big money is through his supposed "lectures" in the US arranged and paid for by the CIA for Mush's services to the US. The lecture arrangement with the CIA was a brilliant idea to openly and legally pay Musharraf by the US. Who would otherwise pay the big money to listen to his "lectures"?
What the writer means by "en route" is that getting to Karachi is one step closer to getting to Dubai, for the "terminally ill" patient. As for most Karachites, Dubai is a safe haven, hence, our beloved former hero has begun his journey.
Musharaf has demotivated Army by leaving AFIC.
Haha no one will touch Musharraf in Karachi! Nawaz is probably pulling out his hair now, only 1 party controls Karachi and that is MQM. Good for Musharraf, lets see who touches him now.
Poor man he must be seriously ill as he is need of constant hospital care. It is rumoured that he has what in medical terms is known as the Empty Windbag syndrome.
@darvesh: In all likelihood, he is probably the same age as or older than your father...so stop with this silly talk about "commando" this or that. Most of you running your mouths here would not even last a couple of days in the selection process for the commando training so stop poking silly fun which is idiotic at best.
@Necromancer: Or perhaps it was already under repair. Think about it for a change!
Commando is closer to his target : Dubai
Welcome to Karachi... We love you and we need you... :)
@darvesh:
Yes just like a father take care of their little children when he is young and when the father ages the young children take care of him.
@Wasim:
Why Pakistan is your father's property? Pakistan belongs to Gen sahib as well. He will come and go as he pleases. If you have problem then you go where you come from.
@H: If you think he is an actor then he must have learned from your leaders as he is trying to become politicians.
A good man being harassed by the political mafia of PML-N. Musharraf is a free man, a retired officer of the Pakistan Army and as such can go to any city of the country and to any military hospital he wishes to. There is nothing illegal or wrong about this. For those with sorry sobbing statements of "one rule for the rich, another for the poor", get over it. He has not been convicted of anything. As such he is a free man and poor or rich has no part to play in this. Its not his fault that he served Pakistan for 45 years in the Army and is entitled to treatment at the military hospital of his choice. Karachi definitely welcomes Musharraf, a patriot and a true son of Pakistan!
what an actor.
bye bye Commando - Don't come back again.
@Malik Liaquat Hussain: "Very Good. Special people special treatment. Poor Nation poor treatment." . Yeah, like travelling to England for a fortnight, if they get a scratch.
necromancer...........if Zardari can get life long special medical treatment..why not Mushraaf...
Welcome. Karachi loves you.
Sir welcome in Karachi.
Sir, it will be a great honor for the city. WELCOME.
How is Karachi safer than Isloo ?
Karachi is ready to welcome General Musharraf. Welcome home General Sahib. Karachiites are ready to pay tribute to this leader ever in the history of Pakistan.
Karachi has nothing to do in being en-route to Dubai. If at all he is destined for Dubai, departing from Islamabad or Karachi makes no difference!
Its a transit- ISB-KHI and DXB!!
Commando is trained to protect army but this commando needs army to protect him.
If this is true.......its not surprising.
"The maintenance and repair of the CCU of the hospital has been completed and no one is allowed to go near it." This statement is so sad just for one person, shame on us.
Of all the places, he thinks Karachi would be the safest option. Counting on MQM I guess.
Threats in Rawalpindi and Islamabad??????? Is Karachi safe? Must be safe because he is now in the hands of major ruling party in Karachi.
Irresponsible journalism but who cares in Pakistan? Musharraf has no case to answer and he is free to and come anywhere he likes Period
Welcome to Karachi.
En route to Dubai?
It says En route to dubai, which's closer to Karachi. Dumboo
What à joke
Where is the 'En route to Dubai' part, ET?
Good riddance, I was tired of being stuck in traffic jams every other week due to his movements.
Why the title "en route to dubai", then? If the newspaper is going to imply something, at least try and do it expressly.
And where does it say Musharraf is going to Dubai?!
