KARACHI:

PAF stunned KRL 4-2 in the National Football Challenge Cup 2014 to qualify for the semi-finals on the back of a penalty shoot out on Tuesday.

Both teams remained goalless at the end of the full-time and also failed to achieve a breakthrough in extra time.

The match then went on to penalty kicks, which PAF won 4-2.

“KRL were very unlucky today,” match-commissioner Ali Nawaz Baloch told The Express Tribune. “Kamran Khan was sent out on a double yellow card, so KRL played with only 10 men for more than 40 minutes in the match.”

Meanwhile, HBL also shocked PIA 1-0 in their quarter-final match at the KMC Stadium. Striker Saeed Ahmed scored the winner in the 33rd minute.

K-Electric and KPT are the other two teams that have qualified for the semi-finals. KPT had registered a shocking 1-0 win against defending champions NBP a day earlier.
