Law-enforcement agencies have arrested a man allegedly connected with the assassination of SP Chaudhry Aslam, who was killed in a suicide attack on January 9.
Mufti Mohammad Shakir, who was rounded up from SITE area, told investigators that the suicide bomber, Naeemuallah was his close ally and disciple, according to officials.
According to Shakir, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi operator Umar had asked him to provide a suicide bomber to slay Aslam. Shakir presented himself for the attack but Umar chose young Naeemullah, police officials told The Express Tribune.
CID Police Investigation In-charge Mazhar Mashwani confirmed the arrest of Shakir but refused to share details. “Mufti Shakir has been arrested and is in jail,” he said.

He deserves a "police encounter" & not any judicial trial.
It is a great work.Well done the agencies. One thing to be noted all the suicide bombers and killers are mostly qaris and hafizs.I am sure they are sure to enter jannat.
@A J Khan: The phrase "devil's advocate" does not literally mean a devil's lawyer.
Come what may, these terrorists will hire a devil's advocate who would win the case on technical grounds. The terrorists will be acquitted honorably. No one can dare open his trap for fear of contempt. The vicious cycle will continue and terrorists will be recycled & unleashed on innocent people of Pakistan.
Suicide bombers are bought and sold?
Good work... Sure his name would be added to the list of ttp detainees they want free!
