LOWER DIR/ DI KHAN:


A police constable was gunned down by unidentified militants in the limits of Saddar police station.


A police official said constable Hidayatullah was coming from Shah Hassan Khel village in a coach when two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted it and opened fire at him, killing him on the spot.


A team of police officials led by Saddar SHO reached the scene of the crime and launched a search operation.


FC constable commits suicide

A constable of the Frontier Corps (FC) allegedly committed suicide while on duty at a school in Lower Dir in the early hours of Friday.


Muntazir, a Balambat police official, said Muhammad Salim, a resident of Haripur, was deputed at the FC public school.


He added Salim was on duty at around 5am when he allegedly shot himself. Salim died on the spot and his body was later sent to his native village in Haripur after an autopsy.
