SHABQADAR: Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Shabqadar chapter organised a demonstration against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA from PK-22, Muhammad Arif Ahmadzai, in front of the municipal committee office.

Led by JI’s general secretary from PK-22, Muhammad Kabir, hundreds of the party’s local supporters and leaders, including naib ameer Bakht Muhammad and Maulana Fakhruddin, walked from the main chowk to the municipal committee office in Shabqadar.

The protesters closed main Shabqadar-Peshawar Road and chanted slogans against PTI and Ahmadzai over the appointment of six workers to the municipal committee’s fire brigade. They demanded the cancellation of the appointment order and transfer of the Shabqadar chief municipal officer , who issued it.

JI naib ameer Bakht Muhammad said, while speaking to the media, the official issued the appointment of the workers on the advice of Ahmadzai, who is their relative. He added the workers are overage. More than 100 local residents had applied for these posts, and some have also gone to court over the illegal appointments, shared Muhammad.
