HBL annihilate PTV in innings-win

Bowlers take 13 wickets on final day in President’s Trophy.

HBL collected all the coveted 10 points after trouncing PTV by an innings and 338 runs in the ninth round of the President’s Trophy that concluded on Thursday.


The HBL bowlers took 13 wickets on the final day to ensure a dominant triumph over their opponents at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

With just three overs possible on the penultimate day, PTV resumed the fourth day’s play at 76 for seven in their first-innings and were bowled out for just 108. Fast-bowler Ehsan Adil claimed four wickets for the bankers.

PTV faltered again in the second-innings after following-on and were dismissed for 153 as HBL recorded their mammoth win. Adil took three wickets this time while Sarmad Anwar, Mohammad Aslam and Imran Farhat bagged two wickets each.

UBL overpower PIA by eight wickets

In Karachi, UBL trounced PIA by eight wickets to jump to second place on the table as they earned nine points with the win.

UBL faced little difficulty in achieving the 95-run target as they completed the task at the cost of just two wickets. Abid Ali (53) and Saeed Bin Nasir (40) remained unbeaten.

Earlier, PIA were all out for 175 in their second-innings after resuming the day at 149 for seven.

Meanwhile, KRL managed to bag three points over SNGPL on the basis of the first-innings as the match ended in a draw. However, SNGPL continue to lead the 11-team table with a total of 49 points.

The other match between ZTBL and the National Bank in Islamabad also ended in a draw after no play was possible on the final day.
