PESHAWAR:

A bank manager was killed in what police said was another incident of sectarian killing in the city.

Sardar Waqarul Hassan, Manager Habib Bank Limited, Abresham Garan branch, was going towards the car park after leaving his office on Tuesday evening, when unidentified attackers opened fire and killed him on the spot. The attackers managed to escape after the murder.

“He was a resident of Gulbahar and belonged to the Shia sect. Without any doubt, it was an incident of target killing,” said a police official from Kabuli Police Station. “The family members will lodge an FIR in the case, while we have sent the body for an autopsy.”

Earlier, the manager and security guard at the Amin Plaza branch of Muslim Commercial Bank were found dead inside the bank on Sunday morning.
