KARACHI: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari criticised General (retd) Musharraf on Twitter after the latter was hospitalised on his way to the treason case hearing on Thursday.

Musharraf was scheduled to appear before a special court but, according to government officials, he complained of pain in his heart and instead was taken to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology in Rawalpindi.

Later during the day, Bilawal Bhutto tweeted his thoughts on Musharraf's detour from the court to the hospital.

In a subsequent tweet, Bilawal also emphasised that Musharraf should face the court and, political differences aside, he too deserves a fair trial.

@Pakistani Patriot: Musharaf's so called coward deed is debatable as people do suffer from heart conditions, it is often reversible and affectees do make full recovery to survive for number of years, but dementia as claimed by Mr Zardari during his Swiss cases is not reversable. A true dementia affectees mental capacity deteriorates with time and culminates into a vegetative state where sufferers gradually loses mental capacity to survive on their own and are no longer able to maintain a meaningful relation ship with the out side world as the short term memory seizes to work and long term memory slows down. Mr Zardari is well and kicking , inspite once having dementia. The clinical observations may prove who is a coward beyond doubt Mr Zardari or Mr Musharaff . Let Mr Bilawal Zardari decide
