Collaboration: Deepen cooperation, says Chinese envoy

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said a number of companies are showing a keen interest to invest in the energy sector in the neighbouring country to help it overcome its crisis.


The foreign diplomat said that China was ready to extend a helping hand to the country, expressing a willingness to participate in water, thermal, solar, wind and civil nuclear power generation projects. “We should strengthen cooperation in all fields,” said Weidong. “We will take the energy and infrastructure cooperation as a priority, push forward planning and construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to promote the economic development of Pakistan.”He said that the bypass project of Attabad Lake of Karakorum Highway, Gwadar Port East Bay Motorway, the reconstruction project of flood damage highway and the China-Pakistan Cross-Border Cable could be the “Early Harvest Projects” of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Pakistan's future is tied to open borders with China with common currency. China must invest massively in Pakistan and have a Marshall or Mao Plan for Pakistan, for Pakistan provides China several strategic advantages.
