According to the police, explosives were recovered from the green belt on Park Road.
Each packet contained around 400-500g of explosive material.
On Decemeber 24, a five-kilogramme bomb was also recovered from Musharraf’s route to the special court. He was supposed to appear before the court to face treason charges under Article 6 for suspending, subverting and abrogating the Constitution, imposing an emergency in the country in November 2007 and detaining judges of the superior courts.
Musharraf’s Advocate Anwar Maqsood had stated later that security threats such as this one are preventing Musharraf from appearing before the court.
Security personnel had found two pistols, a five-meter detonator wire as well as 16 bullets near his farmhouse when they were clearing his route to the hearing.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) had arrived at the scene and diffused the bomb which was found in a briefcase. There were 250 Islamabad police officers and 100 army personnel to provide security at the National Library, shipping containers were also put in place to form a security barrier to the compound.

D for Drama! This is work of agencies to protect their ex-boss. No one should be above the law. Mushraf should face the courts for his wrongdoings. When PMs can face courts, why not an ex-COAS? Is he beyond the LAW of the LAND!
@optimist: Have facts and knowledge before you comment, Great General Musharraf has received bails in all the cases, his farmhouse ceased being declared a sub jail,he is a free man,is free to give as many interviews he wants,Nawaz Sharif is unable to answer questions in interviews regarding running of the country, does not possess knowledge, Musharraf's leadership is one of a kind of Pakistan.

It is hard to believe that some one will just leave explosives, explosives has signatures and could easily be traced out by experts.Yes, security should be provided to him but he must appear before the court. This has been going on for decades that the ruling class consider themselves above the law and the laws of the land only apply to the common people.Some how his old pals has long reach and try to portray that his life is in danger, personally I doubt it that his life is in so much danger that he can not appear before the court. He has said it in the past that he was humiliated to appear before a judge, Generals and Elite just don't appear before the courts, the courts should come to their mansions.

Another toppy-drama is done by establishment and agencies those are trying to save Mushraf from treason trial, but saying goes "Bakray ke Mann kab tak Khair Manay ge". Musharaf had done many blunders in country' history, he should be punished otherwise the same things will be happened again and again.

This recovery of explosives is a poor ploy to prove that some terror organisation is planning to make an attempt on General's life as in Pakistan they just carry out bomb blasts and don't plant them to show their intent. A top establishment is trying its best to fly the General out of the country due to his security concerns.
This man will never appear in court. hopefully this time he may be able to get permenant approval.
Its all drama. . Did you ever see Nawaz Sharif giving interviews while in jail? . It shows that all these things are being created to pave way for Musharraf to leave the country and have some excuse!

PROCLAIMATION OF EMERGENCY.It is a constitutional provision. The court has given ruling against it and that is all. It is like PPP government imposed Governor rule in Punjab & court scrapped it. So where is the treason case against PPP government? State of Pakistan is not meant forsettling personal vendettas. This case will make Musharraf a bigger politician than others.
It sounds like someone tried to gain some media highlight, or sympathy support from others in the country. Just an opinion, otherwise, I must say someone trolled the Commando's rest house security system.
Musharraf is a Commando..he crossed into the Indian side of the LOC in Kargil ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Surely he can devise a way to reach the Court in one piece.

All three judges can be carried to luxurious sub-jail with cameras. He has already admitted his fault in this case hence proceeding will not last long.
