Representative body: Progressive Lawyers Forum sweeps bar elections

Shafqat Raheem Rajput of PLF received 474 votes and was elected president of the Sukkur Bar Association.

The Progressive Lawyers Forum (PLF) emerged victorious in the Sukkur district bar association elections by defeating Advocate Friends Lawyers Forum (AFLF).


The elections were held on Sunday under the supervision of the Sindh Bar Council. Advocate Ghulam Murtaza Korai was the returning officer while the Sindh Bar Council secretary Zainul Abideen supervised the elections.

Out of 945 registered lawyers, 664 exercised their right of vote.

The polling started at 9am and continued till 5pm on Sunday.

All the candidates of the Progressive Lawyers Forum managed to defeat their rivals of the Advocate Friends Lawyers Forum with a large margin.

Shafqat Raheem Rajput of PLF received 474 votes and was elected president of the Sukkur Bar Association. His opponent, Amanullah, received 190 votes.
