The hosts defeated PIA by 66 runs at the KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi.
KRL now have registered five out of five wins, and comfortably sit on top of the standings with 10 points to their credit.
Set a target of 216, PIA were bowled out for 149 in 32 overs, with Anwar being the chief destroyer, claiming four wickets while Umaid Asif took two scalps. Shaharyar Ghani made 37 while Sarafarz Ahmed scored 34.
Earlier, KRL were all out for 215 in 43.4 overs as Najaf Shah got a five-for while Kamran Sajid picked up two wickets.
Usman Salahuddin (45) Umaid (42) and Anwar (36) made vital contributions for KRL.
SBP pip Wapda in high-scoring match
Banking on Farrukh Shehzad’s ton, SBP won a thrilling high-scoring match by 12 runs against Wapda at the National Ground in Islamabad.
Asked to bat first, SBP went on to amass 307 for nine in 45 overs riding on Farrukh’s 128 off 114 balls, which included two sixes and 18 strikes to the fence.
Rizwan Haider scored a whirlwind 74 not out off just 36 deliveries, with as many as seven sixes and three boundaries.
Left-arm spinner Mohammad Asif took three wickets while Mohammad Mudassar and Mohammad Mohsin bagged two scalps each.
In reply, Wapda put up a great fight but were bowled out for 295 in 44.5 overs as Ayaz Tassawwar’s 75-ball 100, studded with four sixes and nine boundaries, went in vain while Ayub Doggar made a fluent 66.
Left-arm spinner Hassan Mehmood and Tallat Khan got four wickets apiece.
Sohail takes four as PQA down in-form ZTBL
Fast-bowler Sohail Khan grabbed a four-wicket haul to bowl PQA to a 35-run triumph over ZTBL, at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot.
Chasing a target of 278, ZTBL was bundled out for 242 in 43.2 overs. Shahid Yousuf (59) scored a half-century while Luqman Butt contributed 49. Pacers Mohammad Sami and Mohammad Talha chipped in with two wickets eavj.
Earlier, half centuries from Daniyal Ahsan (58) and Mohammad Salman (51) helped PQA to post a total of 277 for nine in their quota.
In other matches, UBL defeated NBP with a five-wicket win while SNGPL won by four wickets against PTV.
