KARACHI: An election tribunal has ordered recounting of votes cast in NA-215 and PS-29 Khairpur during May 11 general elections, Express News reported on Friday.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nawab Ali Wassan had won the NA-215 seat while Qaim Ali Shah secured the PS-29 seat.

Former president of the Sindh Chapter of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Ghous Ali Shah had challenged the results of these constituencies.

He had expressed reservations over the voting pattern and subsequent counting of ballot papers.

After reviewing all the evidence and statements by witnesses, the election tribunal decided to recount votes cast on election day.

The tribunal has ordered the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to verify the votes.

PPP grossly violated rules in that election. Qaim Ali Shah was disqualified by election tribunal against Ghous Ali Shah in 1977 as well it's obvious PPP is up to it's old tricks in Sindh!
