High-risk areas: Polio workers offered cash incentives

Federal govt is doing this to boost the campaign and encourage health workers.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government will soon announce financial incentives for polio workers, working in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and other sensitive areas to boost the campaign and encourage health workers. In a press briefing on polio situation, Secretary, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Imtiaz Inayat Elahi on Wednesday said that due to the sudden rise in polio cases, the government has planned different strategies to manage the situation including increasing stipend of polio workers in high-risk areas. He said the government is determined to remove all bottlenecks and will take up the daunting challenge to administer polio drops to children in every nook and corner of the country.
