PESHAWAR: Police on Monday foiled a potential suicide attack in Lakki Marwar, destroying the vehicle of a would-be suicide bomber.

According to reports, the driver tried to ram the vehicle into a security check post and police opened fire at the vehicle. The vehicle blew up with a loud explosion as a result of the firing, injuring three people.

Security forces started a search operation in the area following the incident.

Earlier last month, at least 19 people, including several policemen, were killed and 36 others injured in an explosion after a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a police station in Lakki Marwat district on September 6.
