KARACHI: Three people were wounded at the Express Media Group’s Karachi  office on Monday when an attack utilising improvised bombs and heavy weapons was carried out by unknown assailants.

“Offices of the local Express newspaper and television channel were apparently the target of the attack, which wounded at least three people,” senior local police official Nasir Aftab said.

The building contains staff of the Express News channel, Daily Express Urdu newspaper and The Express Tribune English newspaper.

It was not clear who was responsible for the attack or what the motive was. A local intelligence official also confirmed the incident.

Unidentified men had fired shots from the adjacent KPT Interchange, Express News reported. One car was badly damaged from the hail of bullets in the attack. CCTV footage shows two blasts outside the office followed by firing.

The FIR of the attack has been registered against unknown persons at the Baloch colony police station.

This is the second attack on the office in the space of four months. In the first attack on the Karachi office, a woman and a guard were injured after unknown assailants opened fire.

Apologists are more concerned about zombies dying in drones then for poor countrymen of mine who live in the fear of the very same zombies. I wish Musharraf would somehow come into power as he was and is the only one who is able to implement writ of state with carrot and stick policy. I wish Musharraf sahab well!

first of all i console with you against such a heinous attack but,
for what you are crying? it is the reward for your policy. when you publish (last days it was published in express Urdu paper) editorial encouraging government to take proper military action for eliminating the terrorists from within Pakistan so that America loose an excuse for drone attacks. and when you openly condemn jamiat students gunda gardi (while you know very well that there is a close nexus between jamiat and al-qaida, and you know that natha singh and prem singh are one thing and the same thing). and you also know that to search your offices in Pakistan is normal, then who advised you to speak truth?
so, kindly if you have to continue the policy of speaking truth openly – - either be ready to be targeted or take your safety measures on your own. any demand from government shall be a wastage of time.
    wish you good luck.
