PCB gears up for regional elections

Eight bodies across the country dissolved.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally decided to conduct elections at the regional level by dissolving the interim committees.

An announcement for holding Zonal elections for Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) scheduled to be held on November 25-26 was also made.

An official press release from the PCB said: “The PCB has dissolved the interim committees of the following cricket associations – Lahore, Karachi, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, Rawalpindi and Fata – which were constituted to run the affairs of cricket associations for interim period only.

“Furthermore, the office bearers of the Regional and Zonal District Cricket Association, whose tenures have been completed, have also been de-notified with immediate effect.”

The board’s domestic cricket department will now be looking after the matters of the aforementioned regional associations until the new bodies are formed.
