Smuggling Bid Foiled: 2,300 wrist watches seized

Superintendent Javed and Pervez have been taken into custody for interrogation.

RAWALPINDI: Customs officials seized 2,300 wristwatches at the departure lounge of the Benazir Bhutto Airport on Monday. A Customs official said the watches, which had been packed in a box, were supposed to be smuggled to Bangkok. The official said that two officials including Superintendent Javed and Pervez have been taken into custody for interrogation to find out how the watches reached the departure lounge. He said further investigation was underway to expose the officials involved in the smuggling bid.
