More cases: New dengue patients identified in Swat, Shangla

The total count of dengue victims in Swat district mounted to 9,024 after nine new patients were identified on Friday. The patients were admitted to the dengue cell of Saidu Teaching hospital (STH), after which the total count taken in by the hospital reached 5,148. “Ten more patients have been discharged today after which the amount of patients cured has reached 4,981. Presently, there are 20 patients admitted to the dengue cell,” said STH spokesperson Dr Wasil Khan.


Meanwhile, the total number of dengue victims reached 1,255 in Shangla when seven new patients were identified out of 11 tested on Friday at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Besham.

Hospital in-charge at DHQ Hospital, Dr Mansoor Khan said that due to lack of basic facilities, patients were confronted with several problems. He also said the recent snowfall and cold weather had not affected the spread of dengue as yet.
