Mugging gone wrong: Robber beaten to death in Karachi

The robbers had killed two people and injured one prior to the attack.

KARACHI: A robber and two others were killed in an attempted mugging outside a bank in Korangi’s Awami Colony on Thursday, Express News reported.

Four robbers attempted to mug victims exiting a bank in the area and when they struggled, they shot two of them dead. The deceased were identified as Mukhtar and his friend. Mukhtar’s father was also injured as a result.

After the shooting, onlookers gathered and began to attack the thieves, killing one of them. Two of the robbers fled the scene while another took refuge inside a shop.

The mob attempted to open the shutter of the shop but the police reached before the crowd could lynch the robber.

Police resorted to aerial firing to scatter the mob of people that demanded the police hand the robber over to them.
