MULTAN: Punjab government on Friday released Rs20million for maintenance of canals and embankments in Multan. Irrigation officials said Rs140,000 was released for Multan canal division; Rs1.91 million for Shujabad canal division; Rs1.08 million for Trimmu headworks; Rs122,000 for Eastern Bar; Rs2.6 million for Western Bar; Rs1.12 million for Sulemanki; Rs368,000 for Lodhran; Rs1.99 million for Islam; and Rs597,000 for Sidhnai headworks.They said Rs10 million was released for maintenance and repairing of embankments. Of this, Rs5.16 million was released for Shujabad; Rs300,000 for Trimmu; Rs200,000 for Western Bar; Rs626,000 for Sulemanki; Rs568,000 for Islam; and Rs500,000 for Sidhnai headwork embankments.
