Emergency Aid: Trauma life support course starts

A spokesman for the CPSP said 16 participants had enrolled for the first course.

LAHORE: College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) started a three-day Advanced Trauma Life Support (ALTS) course in collaboration with the American College of Surgeons at its regional centre here on Friday.

A spokesman for the CPSP said 16 participants had enrolled for the first course.

CPSP Senior Vice President Rakhshanda Rehman said Pakistan was the only country is SAARC region that had an organised an ATLS course for emergency patients.

ATLS Country Director Mehmood Ayyaz said that the course will facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment of emergency patients.

He also said the course would help save lives of patients who had been in accidents through provision of better medical aid.
