LAHORE:

Punjab Institute of Literature, Art and Culture (PILAC) on Monday arranged a musical night to pay tribute to Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali, Noor Jehan and Humair Channa.

At the event the students of Naeem Mehdi, Arshad Ali, Naheed Talib and Arshad Rana performed folk, classical and semi-classical songs.

Singer Arshad Ali sang ghazals Pehli wari aaj aena akhiayan ne takya and Chupkay chupkay of Ghulam Ali’s popular numbers.

Singer Naheed Talib paid tribute to Noor Jehan singing her famous ghazals including Mein tae mera dilbar jani, and silsilay tor gaya who sabhi jatay jatay.

Former MNA Bushra Anwar Ali said, “It is an excellent feeling attending such events where all the singers are professionally trained.

It is an excellent opportunity for masses in a country so deprived of entertainment.”
