Pakistan becomes 27th most popular country on Facebook.

Users of social networking site Facebook in Pakistan have crossed the nine million mark, making Pakistan the 27th most popular country on Facebook, reported ProPakistani on Tuesday.

Out of these nine million users, 70% are aged 25 years or younger, while male users are 6.4 million in number and females 2.7 million.

According to an infographic by ThirdWorldStrategy.com, around 44,000 new Pakistani users join Facebook every week.

The report also reveals that over two million users are college graduates.

@Zeeshan: You are not doing a service to Facebook by using its free services. You do not have any negotiating leverage with them. If ou haven't figured out where you stand by trying to browbeat google on he YouTube issue, you are really a slow learner.

After Snowden issue, Pakistan should sit with big countries like Brazil, India, Indonesia, Malaysia etc (at least 7 large or medium sized countries having different religions) and make an answer to Google and Facebook. . These two companies are too big and having bases in one country (the US), are a big security threat to individual data and information. A powerful alternative is needed in order to balance the world! . Malaysia did spend $200 million dollars and gave free email address to its people. I think other countries should join the same programme in order to avoid people reading our emails and compromise world security.
