Aftab Sultan has served as the chief of Intelligence Bureau in 2011.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday appointed Aftab Sultan as Director General of the Intelligence Bureau.

According to the spokesperson of Prime Minister's House, PM Nawaz appointed Sultan who is a BPS-22 officer of the Police Group as DG Intelligence Bureau.

Sultan was the inspector general of the Punjab Police during the caretaker government and was tasked with the fair policing of the general elections.

He has also served as DG of the Intelligence Bureau in 2011.
